My work at PolyGram was mostly with the Decca Records label. This allowed me to work through a number of genres from modern classical, Jazz and contemporary music. In a lot of cases the packaging didn't take the typical approach of putting an artist on the cover, allowing the theme or mood of the music to be what influenced the visual story. Sometimes this involved working with archival material from organizations like the BBC, or commissioning shoots to create something unique for newly written pieces. Decca was famous for its attention to detail on the artists packaging, with the goal always to make them feel premium.
